Giving Tuesday | Global Day of Giving

Have you heard about #GivingTuesday™ (#GT) — the global day of giving? Celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.), #GivingTuesday is a counterpoint to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. After a weekend of consumer spending, #GivingTuesday provides a moment to pause, be grateful, support causes you care about, join together with friends and colleagues and share your stories on social media. This year’s #GivingTuesday is November 29, 2016.

Started in 2012 by 92nd Street Y in New York, in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, #GivingTuesday has become a global phenomenon. Last year over 700,000 people in 71 countries raised $116,000,000 online for nonprofits of all types. Over 40,000 organizations have joined the movement.

#GivingTuesday connects diverse groups of individuals, communities and organizations around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. #GivingTuesday
