Melanie Johnson, Director of Alumni and Special Events at Southfield School in Shreveport, Louisana, shares her insights. One of their greatest fundraising challenges has been to keep their events fresh and new every year. By utilizing Greater Giving’s Event Software, they’ve been able increase their auction revenue from $110,000 to $200,000.
Johnson advises other nonprofits to set up a database of some sort so they can get a historical view of their auction. A database also gives you the ability to run reports, compare figures and gain insights into your donors—what they bought and how devoted they are to your cause and to your event.
