Stephanie Baker, Marketing and Events Coordinator of the Humane Society for Southwest Washington (HSSW), describes her biggest challenge as prioritizing and finding the time to put into procurement. She credits her success to her volunteers: “There’s no way I could do what I do without them.”
Baker advises other nonprofits to “tell your story.” Working with cats and dogs, it’s easy to get people passionate about the cause. Everyone loves to talk about their pets and that allows her to make connections with other human beings, which is what it’s all about. So tell your story and make connections.
