Event 180°: Renovate your event with these 7 trend-worthy ideas
Each December after the books are closed on nearly 100 events in 20 states, a master document is created to record the best and brightest ideas used at cutting-edge galas. As someone who works on stage at these events, I find myself spending Saturday nights at the most trendsetting fundraisers imaginable – the events every other nonprofit in town seeks to copy. In this session, you’ll get the skinny on the 7 most original ideas I’ve witnessed when it comes to auctions, mission-driven messaging, and/or fund a needs.

Your Presenter:
Sherry Truhlar, Red Apple Auctions
Sherry Truhlar is President of Red Apple Auctions, an auction firm focused on nonprofit galas. Since 2005, she’s been a cheeky auctioneer onstage, and a trusted resource offstage for those seeking to improve the profitability of their fundraising gala. You might have seen her onstage working an auction, heard her speak at an AFP regional events (Planet Philanthropy or Bridge Conference) or read her insights in The NonProfit Times, Florida’s Sun Sentinel, Town & Country, The Washington Post Magazine, Missouri Meetings & Events, Vineyard Gazette, or many of the other papers who have quoted her advice. Though based in the Washington, D.C. area, she maintains her bliss by sidestepping the political scene.
